About Court on Call

Court on Call was created to offer firms overwhelmed with busy court schedules, a cost-effective alternative to sending attorneys to distant counties.

As the managing attorney at a Chicago law firm, Ms. Voukidis was responsible for assigning attorneys to appear on matters in Chicago and in collar counties. She realized that the firm lost hundreds of attorney hours and thousands of dollars per year sending associates to cover short statuses in collar counties. Typically, the traveling associate would not return to the office, resulting in a loss of the entire workday. Coupled with reimbursement expenses and wasted billable office hours, she determined that sending associates to cover out-of-county court matters, was a lose-lose situation for any firm, big or small.

Court on Call was started to assist firms in saving valuable time and money while maintaining experienced and professional coverage of their cases. Our flat, fixed rates are specifically set to be a cost-effective solution for all firms.

About the Owner

Vickie Voukidis Blum

Vickie Voukidis, is the owner of Court on Call and brings over 23 years of litigation experience to the company.

After a short term as an Assistant State's Attorney, Ms. Voukidis started her career in private practice continuing her criminal law experience with trials in State and Federal courts and expanding her knowledge to municipal defense, representing clients such as the Chicago Park District, the Chicago Transit Authority and the Village of Maywood. Thereafter, Ms. Voukidis concentrated her practice in municipal and insurance defense in catastrophic injury cases, while an Associate with a prominent municipal defense firm.

As an Associate with Herbert F. Stride, Ltd., Ms. Voukidis turned the focus of her career to representing severely injured plaintiffs, obtaining multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements in medical malpractice, railroad-pedestrian/vehicle, construction, aviation and products liability actions. Ms. Voukidis has prosecuted and defended cases in Boone, Cook, Champaign, DeKalb, DuPage, Lake, LaSalle, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, McLean and Sangamon Counties and in the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois Federal Court. In addition to her trial experience, Ms. Voukidis has written and argued cases in several Illinois Appellate Districts and in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Prior to starting Court on Call, Ms. Voukidis was the Managing Attorney at a successful, plaintiff’s personal injury firm, where she was primarily responsible for law firm management and associate training and development.

In addition to her trial and management experience, Ms. Voukidis is a Director of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois, Co-Chairing the Association's Judicial Evaluation Committee, and a member of the group's newly created Mentoring Program. Ms. Voukidis has also been appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court's Committee on Character and Fitness and provides legal counsel to Hands of Hope, a local not-for-profit charitable organization that helps women and children in crisis in Africa.

A graduate of DePaul University College of Law, Ms. Voukidis was a member of DePaul’s Law Review and a Quarterfinalist in its regional Moot Court Competition.
